I'm just going to say it. Starbucks' new Pumpkin Spice Latte is TERRIBLE! It's a classic case of "it ain't broke don't fix it." You can blame it on foodbabe for this travesty. What makes it worse is she still won't be drinking it. http://foodbabe.com/2015/08/17/youll-never-guess-starbucks-just-announced-hint-made-happen/ The hippie-dippy people who want their natural bad-tasting new PSLs should get what they want. But I want my chemically balanced PSL. I also want the great fake pumpkin taste back. Someone worked very hard in a food laboratory to create that taste. We need to support our food chemists.
I feel so passionately about this matter that I have done the following: contacted Starbucks (they promised I would hear from a real person within 24 hours--they have some time left), I sent a tweet to the universe, I ignored my grad school work (ok, I was kind of doing that anyway), and now I have posted on my blog (it has been three years since my last blog post).
I hope this shows Starbucks how egregious this sin is. I can't undrink those last two Pumpkin Spice Lattes, but I hoping there is some old chemical PSL flavoring somewhere in Seattle that can make this better.
